YOU ASKED FOR IT

I have had many requests from people to offer a thinner seat back bumper to replace the OEM one. It would allow people that install the WindsuppreSSR the ability to recoup the half inch of seat travel that they lose. I have developed and made some machined out of black UHMW that look great and are now available. As they already have the correct hole size for the special fasteners I provide with the WindsuppreSSR that means no alteration will be necessary for the Installation.
Now my dilemma do I offer them as an option with a separate cost? (like the Letters) or do I just include them with the purchase of the WindsuppreSSR and raise the price of the WindsuppreSSR the $24.95 additional price? I am asking for opinions from all the members of this Forum You guys have helped me in the past with decisions on the WindsuppreSSR so Im hoping I can count on you again.

Option Ray

Sell as an option most people wont need them. Oh and one more product line a 7/16 drill bit, finding that damn bit is what took so long to install your product. :glol :glol :glol

Make them an option and I second the 7/16 drill bit as an option also, out of 4 or 5 sets of bits not one of them had a 7/16 bit.

How do I order a set of the new slim bumpers?

I would offer it as an option, not everyone may need it. I would love to have'm I'm 6'2'' & could use the extra 1/2", let me know how to order.

I think it should be a new improved windsuppressr with the new bumper. whether or not you need it, it will not matter if you have it. and for those who need it now can upgrade for limited time special price just like you did the letters. I personally don't need it changed. My husband who drives a small amount of time might like it. Have to ask him.

You can e-mail me at [email protected] or PM me on this site If you mail a check to Windsuppressr for $24.95 I will pay for shipping. If you use PayPal and send to my e-mail address please add $7.00 for shipping and if you are in MI please add 6% sales tax. Make the new design change the only option...

HI Ray,

First of all I am thrilled you are making it with a new thinner design for those of us that are over 6' tall will certainly appreciate that! :thumbs

I have a question for those that are about to purchase one of your WindsuppreSSRs. Shouldn't they assume that you will now make all of your newer designed WindsuppreSSRs with the thinner bumper design?

It would seem to me you wouldn't want to continue to build the older style as well correct? If so I would then call it on going product design change or continuous improvement. So I would be inclined to think you might want to incorporate this newer design change into the same pricing structure of the previous WindsuppreSSRs. Of course unless you feel it is time to raise your prices to recover your costs for the newer product enhancements.

Just my 2 cents…

option

those pieces were not in the pkg. you used your original bumpers. So this is extra pieces. more cost for Ray. I can see it being an option if you needed them. And more money. I don't think Ray is making a killin on sellin these to us. I imagine there is alot more labor involved than we think. OPTION. :thumbs :flag :seeya

Marc, Just wanted to make clear the design of the WindsuppreSSR is not being changed. It will be built the same as it always has. The new bumpers are a convenience addition 1) by eliminating the need to alter the original bumpers and 2) being thinner you get back the half inch of seat travel lost when you install the WindsuppreSSR. Some people didn't like the Idea of having to drill open the original bumpers and as some of the posts suggest there was some inconvenience in finding a 7/16 drill bit to do it. Also other people didn't like losing the half inch of seat travel. And yet many others were fine with altering the bumpers and the half inch didn't matter to them. So now that old saying you can't please everyone just is not true I will do my best to try and please everyone. Now as far as raising the price I want every one to know these are not just a couple pieces of plastic with 2 holes in them. Marc you don't know because you don't have a WindsuppreSSR yet but I make a quality product and the people that have them Im sure will all agree with that. Now These new bumpers are also high quality I didn't spare any expense they are made of black UHMW machined on all surfaces I even have a thin black foam piece with a peel off sticky side that covers the whole front so you don't even see the screw holes and finishes it off. So needless to say at $24.95 for the two of them I won't be retiring any time soon (unless of course GM decides to make a few million SSR's) But if it helps to sell a few more WindsuppreSSR's hey, then its worth the effort. Now Marc the weather is getting nice and that top will be coming down time to think about a nice mothers day present for the wife. WindsuppreSSR Hint! Hint! :ssr

HI Ray,

Thanks for the great feedback! :thumbs I certainly understand the great quality and effort you have put into your product and the great customer service you have always shown to our members here too.

PS... With those improvements I just might have to now :) hmm by Mothers Day... or perhaps by Father's Day??? :jester

:thumbs I think making them an option for the price you are asking would NOT send any of us to the poor house! Look at the letters you now offer. We all jumped on them like they were the next best thing to sliced bread and no one grumbled! I do not need them for comfort, but they sure would make it easier for me to be able to get in and out of my SSR with my prosthesis! I WILL be ordering a set! Thanks again Ray for making such great products for our SSR's!

New Thin Bumpers

My vote is for OPTION, agreeing with Marc NY. Also, this makes your pricing consistent for your customers to purchase just the bumpers for their WindSuppreSSR that they have already installed.

Just my 2-1/2 cents. . . .

I also agree with the option, and I voted in the poll accordingly. Personally, losing the 1/2" didn't bother me( my butt was built to close to the sidewalk anyway), and the bumpers should be made available to those you need them,
just my 2 1/2 cents...
