(1) My defrost Icon stays on or illuminated no matter which mode I select ? Is this normal ? on the mode select knob. (The knob on the right of the 3 climate control knobs)

(2) When I select recirulation with the fan turned on it brings in A.C. air. (with the A.C. button off) However if I turn the recirulation off and leave the fan on it now just brings in normal air. My question or questions are does your trucks act this way.

I have no truck to compare against.

It is my understanding that the defrost icon is colored, not illuminated. Unless the headlights (not driving lights) are on, then everything is illuminated, hopefully.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, which has happened once or twice in my lifetime. :lol

There are Two defrost settings

Look closer on the fan knob - There are actually two defrost settings - One simply directs the airflow to the defroster outlets as you would expect, the one that is amber colored is more like Turbo-defrost - It puts the fan on high, activates the A/C for removing humidity and turns on the electric defroster elements as well... For those days where the interior fogs up...

Recirculate mode on any late model GM car will turn on the AC as well. The indicator light does not come on to let you know.
