Yes Asanti the best disks which I saw. I order Asanti wheels 113 (R-20, 22). But while there are offers the central part to paint color of a body (silver). And to them tire Yohokama 305/40, as for bmw X5.

Asanti Wheels

Thanks for posting the photo of the Asanti 3-piece custom wheels. Very, very nice/classy....but also very expensive!

BTW, unless I'm blind, I only count 5 lugs on the wheels in the photo....how is that with the SSR having 6 lugs as stock, unless it was changed on that vehicle? I personally know that Asanti will custom make the 3-piece wheels in the 6 lugs on 5" bolt pattern to fit the SSR. However, at the approximate $7,000.00 price tag quoted to me for wheels and tires, I decided to pass.

I noticed that the 305/40 series Yokohama tires that you selected result in almost an 8% oversize on the rear 22" wheels. You might want to keep that in the back of your mind when watching your speedometer.

Looking at the photo of the SSR with ASANTI wheels I noticed the fuel filler door on the passenger side rear fender. Where did this come from? Mine is on driver's side.

Jim:

Excellent "catch" on the fuel fill door being on the "wrong" side. I guess I was totally fixated on the wheels and completely missed it.

Could this photo be a "PhotoShop" deal, you think? I almost don't know what to believe sometimes these days with what folks can do with those digital photo editors.

marketing picture

Yes, I believe the picture is a digital creation. Obviously got the negative reversed (thus the fuel filler door) and just copied similar wheels with 5 lugs.

Another Photo of the Helo Skid Wheel

Since I've been PM'd by a few folks recently for additional info. on the Helo HE689 "Skid" wheels that have, I thought I would post a pretty decent photo from one of the wheel vendor's website. I believe if you store this photo to your hard drive, you should be able to enlarge it and view it in pretty good detail if interested.

Again, these wheels are available in 20"x9" front and 22"x9.5" rear, for the SSR.

Boyd Coddington Smoothie II Wheels

Since a lot of folks like the Boyd Coddinton Smoothie II wheels, I've attached a couple of pretty decent photos form another thread. I believe these are on fanatic, "Fuzzy's", SSR. Aren't the SSR logo decals on the center caps COOL?....you bet! Makes the wheels look factory. I wish custom wheel had these.

These wheels are not available in 19", so you'll have to go with the 18"/20" setup or the 20"/20" setup.

More photos of custom chrome wheels for SSR:

I thought I'd post some more decent vendor photos of some of the custom wheels previously mentioned in this thread, but without photos.

From left to right, they are the Diamo 15 Karat, Zinik Z3 Bellflower, Zinik Z9 Zabini, and TIS Model 2. Again, I show these wheels as I know they are made to fit the SSR, because fanatics are running them. For sizes info., see earlier posts in this thread.

More custom wheel photos:

Here are some photos of 3 of the "Intro" brand wheels offered for the SSR.
(Note: fanatic, "Ghostrider", is offering these to fanatics as well.) These are only 3 of my favorites, but I believe there are at least 8 more styles.

Again, as mentioned in an earlier post in this thread, these are polished billet aluminum wheels, and they are available in the stock 19"/20" sizes, so you don't have to buy new tires. However, they are more expensive than the cast chrome wheels, but probably better quality....better be for the price difference!

From left to right they are the Prowler 6, the Pentia 6, and the Hammer 6.

Well after some searching and waiting I went with the Intro Wheel. The particular one si the Mullholand 6. Stock rim sizes and got one heck of a deal directly from them.

Now I just have to wait 4 more weeks to get them..But at least my MPD spoiler will be here and done before them and my 3g front spoiler and the 2/4 drop.

Will post picks whenever I get them on. but here is the rim...

Custom Wheels:

Boosted and WOW FCTR:

Nice wheels, guys! Thanks for posting the photo. This is the feedback that I was looking for in starting this thread to begin with. Since the hunt for custom wheels for the SSR is a tough, rather frustrating one, I was hoping to make this the "thread of all treads" when it comes to info. on custom wheels and tires available for the SSR.

Guys, PLEASE post the photos when you get the new wheels on.

Hey, you did get me too, on the "j/k" that is. We've become such an "acronym society" that it's hard to keep up with them, much less in many cases figure out what one is trying to say. At least I know what BTW and IMHO mean. Hell, I even catch myself using them in some of my posts and PMs.

I've PM'd a few of the fanatics that have customs wheels to ask them if they mind me posting photos of their rides in this thread. I'll be posting some more photos soon. They'll be good additions here!

Custom Wheels:

Cruzned, I’m glad that you have found this thread to be helpful, as that was my whole intention by starting it in the first place…and NOT to show off my personal choice of custom wheels. I liked my stock silver painted wheels, as I thought they complimented my ricochet silver SSR in a nice, monochromatic way. However, I’ve always like “tricking out” my rides in the past, usually with custom wheels making the biggest impact.

I passed on the GM stock chrome wheels, even though I liked them at the time of buying my new, leftover SSR, first because I thought $2,000 was a lot for them as an add on, and second because I figured that I would have no problem finding custom wheels that I might like even better. Well, as a lot of you already know, I was in for a big surprise and disappointment. The SSR’s 6 on 5” lug pattern, coupled with the wheel offsets, and then the 19” front wheel size made it difficult to find many custom wheels that would fit the SSR, particularly if you were looking for the stock size setup of 19”/20”. (Although later, ironically, I decided to go with the 20”/22” setup.)

Being a structural engineer, I’m usually very analytical and methodical about researching things of interest or necessity, and I was determined to “pound the internet into submission” if I had to in the attempt to fine some kind of decent selection of custom wheels for the SSR. Plus, I even got 3 local custom wheel dealers involved to help me in the search for wheels. I/we didn’t turn up much except the good looking, but very expensive, 3-piece wheels from Asanti, and others. Well, as it turned out, the most help I got was from some of our fellow fanatics who owned custom wheels, and had obviously already been down this lonesome road themselves.

Thus, those of you considering custom wheels will have 3 basic questions and issues to resolve:

1. Polished billet or cast aluminum wheels?
2. Front/rear wheel size setup? – 18”/20”, (stock) 19”/20”, 20”/20”, or 20”/22”
3. Wheel model/style?

I did not include the 1-piece, 2-piece, or 3-piece wheel construction issue, because I felt for most folks, me included, the price of multi-piece wheels were prohibitive. But they well made, good looking, and are out there if you want them.

Hopefully, this thread will remove a lot of the legwork involved, provide you all with the facts, information, and some known choices, and help you make the decision that’s right for you.

Thanks again fellow fanatics for helping me in my decision on custom wheels, which I am absolutely delighted with.
