Does anyone know this?
The Handle flops around without this.
Did anyone ever install the Lokar Hood Release Cable?

I've used multiple parts from Lokar on my old streetrod. As to what you are describing, I would think you could come up with a "fix" to eliminate the handle "flop" without spending unnecessary funds and hassle to R&R what is already there.

It's the OEM Hood Release Cable Handle that has the Handle Table Meter Nut.
The best that I can determine, it looks like a hollow tube with threads on the outside with a Cap top to hold the
Hood Cable Release Handle in place.
A part number on any parts diagram is missing.
Only the Hood Release Cable shows.
I was asking about the Lokar, looking to replace the plastic Release Handle with a metal one.
Plastic dry's up and breaks easily.
I'm sure many of you have a loose Hood Release Cable with the same problem.
Any ideas for R&R would be appreciated.

After looking up the cable assem up in the repair manual I think I see what your talking about. If I am right your are missing the nut that holds the cable release handle to the left cowl. with out see some pics of the problem it sounds like the plastic mount that holds the handle that is held in place by the nut is broken. Have you removed the kick panel and looked at the handle to see if the nut is there. After looking at the assembly in the book looks to me that replacement of the cable might be the best.

You are correct. I have removed the kick panel.
In my internet research for the part, it's called a Table Meter Nut.
Something that I have never heard of.
The part is not to be found on any GM Vehicle Parts list.
I was wondering if anyone had ever put the Lokar metal one in an SSR.
Labor is the same, but the part is more expensive.
