If you have gotten a conversation from a member directing you to an Email for someone who has what you are looking for. It maybe a scam. I got 2 conversations sent to me and when I emailed and offered to meet and pay cash they stopped responding. I did a google search and the address came up with an alert from a Porsche forum with the same name and address. So if you have been contacted do your research before you send any money or get in touch with the payment source and see if you can cancel the payment before its too late.

Yup. I got one too. It was alerting me to a recent post for a part for sale. I went and searched for a recent thread but none existed. I just ignored the conversation. I suggest others do the same.
Did it have to do with those 18 trailer hitches and other SSR parts he said he could get? That post on the Facebook Fanatic page has been deleted...🤔

I heartily agree are they really that lazy? Or do they just dislike papers like a paycheck.? I’ve worked harder than I probably should have (who and beyond evobknows what brought my Parkinson’s on). I got a message from someone who had just joined the forum. They had not made any posts in any threads, but had sent me a message with an email to contact a person who had the part I was looking for. I asked the person who sent the conversation where the part was listed at and got no response to that. I sent an email and asked if I could meet them to pick up the part in person. They said yes but would not take cash. That was a big red flag. I had gotten another conversation from the same person with the same thing only for a different part I had an old post for. So I did more investigating and sent the info to Bluestreak. He has taken care of it already. But if someone has a message and sent payment they could be out already. I wanted to warn everyone hoping no one sent any money to them.
All of this in three hours. If it reappears Report it so i or another Moderator can fix it again.
I sent him a "no so friendly" response. Hopefully he takes his scam elsewhere, or gives up. Good catch @Stlhotrod.
Me too. He was digging deep since he was telling me about something I was looking for almost 2 years ago
The new members list is full of resent new registered members that have spam and scam in their profile so be careful !!!!!!! I have reported this to @Administrator but it continues to happen??????? ( I first reported this on 02/24/2020 )
We can't our old Forum stuff back, like a simple "New" box on posts we haven't read, on this new format---BUT it seems MORE spam and scamers are able to get on here @Administrator !!!!!

There are two members with spam in their profile on the Newest members list today and if we could look back farther there are probably 40 since January they all need to be removed !!!!!!!

just make it that a forum officer has to aprove membership no posting unless membership . can view all they like .or better yet a paid member that will weed them out
This guy did not post anything so he would have gotten around it. He went to the parts for sale section and and sent conversations to everyone looking for anything and sent a message saying he had the part that was being looked for. It looked like he was using a copy and paste for each one he sent out but changing what the original person was looking for.
I got one from an ad I was looking for Aqua Blur bed strips. Then I got another one from where I was looking for running board brackets.

A couple of clues to look out for. They sign up and with in hours are only sending private messages about parts people are looking for. They say they know someone who has the parts and give an email to contact. So far they also add in the person with the parts are in Missouri (at least mine have). They have changed the email address to respond to. Their prices are about average or no price listed in the first response. If you look at their profile it will show their active was in parts for sale or someones profile. They haven't posted in any section. Report them as soon as you see something similar and remember if it sounds to good to be true it is.
